Your writing stats
Calliope keeps a quiet record of your writing and turns it into a stats page — your habit at a glance, and a look inside your manuscript. It informs and delights; it never shames a slow week.
A year of writing at a glance — the heatmap, the streak with earned freezes, and your writing persona.
On this page
Calliope quietly records your whole habit — a daily word history, your rhythm, every chapter and character — and hands it back as self-knowledge: what your writing looks like, and what your manuscript actually contains.
Opening it
- On the Structure page, click Stats →.
- Or tap the 🔥 streak flame that rides the “+N today” count in the editor’s top bar.
- For all your books at once, go to /stats.
Your habit
- The heatmap shows how much you wrote each day over the past year.
- Your streak counts the days you keep writing. Rest days from your weekly goal don’t break it, and you earn a freeze every seven writing days (banked up to two) that quietly covers a day you miss.
- Pace projects when you’ll reach your goal at your recent rate.
- Your rhythm learns the hours and days you write best, and names a playful persona for how you work — “The Midnight Scribe.”
Your manuscript
- The vitals — words, pages, read-aloud time, chapters, parts, and how much is drafted versus done.
- The cast — who appears most across the book, and the “barely mentioned” characters hovering at the edges.
- Stats for nerds — a deeper, playful read of the writing itself: your vocabulary and its diversity, most-used and signature words, how much is dialogue, and an adverb-o-meter for the -ly habit.
- Writing Wrapped — a shareable summary card of your persona and headline stats, with a one-click image you can download.
Good to know
- The heatmap and streak are there from day one — they’re built from your existing writing history.
- Your rhythm and persona are not retroactive — they begin recording from now and fill in over time.
- The streak is across all your books (writing anything counts) and forgives planned rest days and the occasional miss.
- Pace appears only when a daily or deadline goal is set — see Goals & targets.
- Content stats (dialogue, adverbs, signature words) are playful estimates, meant to be fun, not exact.
- The global /stats view is for signed-in writers with more than one book. Writing anonymously, you’ll see your single book’s stats.
