Unlocking writes

Reading is free forever. The subscription is the one thing that lets a connected client write back into your canon — and it comes with an AI allowance you'll use everywhere.

On this page

Without a subscription, a connected client is read-only: it can read your whole book and run Calliope’s AI tools on credits, but it can’t save anything back. The subscription is what turns it read-write — letting your agent write marginalia, manage structure, and edit the Map. (Never prose — that line never moves.)

What it costs

  • €12 / month, or
  • €99 / year — the equivalent of a little over eight euros a month, well below twelve.

The yearly is the deliberate value: for a committed writer it comes in below what the same AI usage would cost bought as credits, and includes unlimited canon writes that credits can’t buy at all.

The included AI allowance

Every subscription includes a €10 / month Calliope-AI allowance — a bucket of AI usage that:

  • works everywhere — the web app and your connected client draw from it;
  • is spent first, before any prepaid credits you hold;
  • resets monthly (use-it-or-lose-it), and
  • overflows to credits if you run past it, so your agent never just stops mid-task.

So the subscription isn’t only about write access — it’s also a sensible amount of AI usage each month, wherever you spend it.

Subscribe

Subscribe from /account/subscription. Billing is handled by Stripe; you can manage or cancel any time through the billing portal, and your plan, allowance, and usage all show on that same page. VAT is added at checkout for your locale.

After you subscribe

Your already-connected clients gain write access immediately — no reconnecting. The prompts that were refused before (“save this synopsis to the outline,” “add this fact to the map”) now go through. To wind it back down, cancel the subscription (clients return to read-only) or revoke a client entirely.
